Dr James Oliver


Background experience

I am a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years' experience in the NHS and Private Practice. I offer assessment and evidence-based therapeutic intervention for children and adults experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. I have a special interest in anxiety related issues such as OCD, panic, performance anxiety, and chronic stress/burnout.

My NHS role is within the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital working with young people and families impacted by a health condition or event. I also have signficant experience in supporting athlete mental health, both amateur and professional, across a range of sports such as professional football, tennis and olympic sports.

I welcome enquires in relation to both child and adult mental health support, and can offer both online support or face-to-face at my clinics in Lymm and Sale.

I am an approved clinician with most private health care providers including AXA, WPA and BUPA.

Qualifications

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Lancaster University
MSc Sport and Exercise Psychology, University of Central Lancashire
BSc Psychology, University of Manchester
