Dr James Oliver

Background experience

I offer independent assessment and evidence-based therapeutic intervention for children and adults experiencing a range of emotional difficulties. I have a number of years’ experience working in NHS mental health services, most recently as a Senior Clinical Psychologist at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Here, I supported young people and families with the emotional impact of a health condition. I have a clinical interest in anxiety-related concerns, performance pressures and work-related stress/burn-out.

In my current role, I support performance and wellbeing within elite sport and business environments. This work involves working across the age span, from adolescents in sporting environments through to working age business executives. I have my own sporting background which at times can help to understand some of the pressures which exist within high performance systems.

I am currently able to offer face-to-face appointments in my clinics in Warrington and Sale. I also offer remote video appointments using Zoom
